Posted by Peter Dishman on May 31st, 2006

Low turnout today, largely because the end of classes is upon us and everybody is doing projects or preparing for final exams. But here’s what my particular group of students said (German Literature, English Literature, Accounting, Communications).
Do you consider yourself a person who is on top of current events?
The students did not consider themselves “news […]

Discussion Starters:
Do you consider yourself a person who is on top of current events?

Please pray for our summer interns. Katie (UVA), Anna (Covenant), Carole (Samford), Nick (Auburn) and Rebecca (UVA). After talking with each of them for about an hour yesterday and today, I can say that we are looking forward to an exciting summer!
UPDATE: You may have noticed that the first and third young ladies pictured look […]

Browser Problems?

Posted by Peter Dishman on May 30th, 2006

I’m able to see this blog’s new theme perfectly in Firefox, but in Internet Explorer it comes up as pure text. Is this just my impoverished computer setup, or are others having that trouble as well? Ideas?
UPDATE: It turns out that the place that I downloaded the new theme (Wuhan) from somehow managed to omit […]

Metro Face Lift

Posted by Peter Dishman on May 30th, 2006

The new metro cars have everybody facing everybody else - that probably means that a lot more people will fit during rush hour than in the old cars, although during regular hours you slide into the person next to you at every stop. A definite plus of the new cars is their improved “grip” possibilities […]

Starbucks

Posted by Peter Dishman on May 29th, 2006

Yesterday evening I decided to be a fresa*. So, after making sure I had more than thirty pesos in my pocket and packing up my bag with journals, notebooks, and iPod, I headed off to Starbucks.
Upon arrival, I immediately looked for a non-Starbucks place to park, since the parking that goes with the coffee shop […]
