Adios, Amigos

Posted by Peter Dishman on April 24th, 2005

Today we had a “despedida” (farewell) for Rick and Pam Box and their daughter Hannah, who will be heading to Texas in about a month to get their support account back in the black. We’ll definitely miss the Boxes, and hope that they come back soon! Your prayers as they juggle many responsibilities […]

Hello All,
All of the videos on the mpegs page now work (I had some problems uploading them awhile back), and I have added a new short called “UNAM on a Thurday afternoon in April” put together from about 20 minutes of footage I took yesterday. I should be coming out with more “updative” material […]

After loading all of that gravel into the dump truck, why not use it as a mattress? Especially if you are going to be sitting in traffic for a few hours.

Saturday Paint Job

Posted by Peter Dishman on April 20th, 2005

It’s Saturday, market day, the biggest day of the week. Lot’s of people want to use the Federal Highway from Mexico City to Puebla. Sounds like a great time to pull a massive cherry picker into the middle of a three lane highway and paint a bridge, right?

Seems like they are claiming a pretty big endorsement there, doesn’t it?

Some People I Met In Mexico City

Posted by Peter Dishman on April 20th, 2005

Bob & Gwen Longacre came for a visit to Mexico City…

They came to see people from the 22,000 strong Trique language group, into whose language Bob translated the New Testament.

Here in the picture, you can see Bob and Gwen, their son Esteban, Bob’s fellow linguist Jerry, and in the front row Trique pastor Felipe […]

A Mexican Evangelical on the New Pope

Posted by Peter Dishman on April 20th, 2005

In La Jornada, an evangelical opines on the new pope…
(quick and dirty translation).
A los así llamados laicos, la Iglesia católica los seguirá relegando al papel de consumidores de lo que enseñan y ordenan sus autoridades. Con Ratzinger al frente, el verticalismo y concentración del poder en Roma se hace todavía más fuerte. El […]
